Benchmark is a residential, co-educational emotional growth school. We are dedicated to assisting troubled young adults, between the ages of 18 and 28, as they learn to change their negative behaviors and prepare students to be able to live independently/inter-dependently as healthy, productive and responsible adults. Benchmark teaches the skills necessary for success in education, job/work, physical health, emotional well-being and independent living.
As a voluntary and private school, Benchmark provides an optimal setting that allows our students to achieve their independent living goals. Students live on campus with their peers and resident counselors, sharing their learning experiences through a structured curriculum. Students should be prepared to spend no less than 12 months at Benchmark. Some students will require 18-24 months, depending upon their individual progress. Curriculum Highlights...
• Academic coaching
• Appropriate boundaries
• Apartment living
• College classes
• Community involvement
• Daily living skills
• Emotional growth
• Finance and budgeting
• High school diploma

• Vocational education Our curriculum is divided into three specific cornerstones – Emotional Growth, Academic/Vocational Development and Independent Living. We identify the strengths and limitations of the student during each phase of their program. We make an effort to address his or her individual needs and find the best possible process for independent/inter-dependent living to occur.
Our young people are referred to us by educational consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists, other emotional growth schools and by parents who know our work. Students will be admitted following an interview process consisting of the referring professional (if available,) parents and student, meeting with the Benchmark Admissions Director and Executive Director.
Our students are men and women between 18 and 28 years of age who have exhibited issues and behaviors that fall into the following categories:
