CALO (Change Academy Lake of the Ozarks) is a residential treatment center for adolescents struggling with issues of emotion, trauma, and attachment. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. The therapeutic recreation department utilizes local natural resources to provide therapeutic opportunities for our students. Biking, rock climbing, water skiing, wake boarding, and fishing adventures are used to help students learn the importance of healthy relationships within their lives. This is truly an adventure based model for Recreational Therapy.
Eligibility for this position requires a Therapeutic Recreation Degree from an accredited university and the possibility of acquiring a CTRS certification.
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Recreational Therapy Supervisor will be responsible for assessing students’ recreational patterns, planning productive and exciting recreational therapy groups, implementing the plans utilizing therapeutic metaphors, and then evaluating student progress.
