New Haven is a residential treatment center for adolescent girls and their families. We are family focused, clinically sophisticated and values based. Our philosophy is based upon principles of Family, Love, Locus of Control, Selflessness, Values and Spirituality. We have 75 beds, which are split between two campuses; one in Spanish Fork, UT and the other in Saratoga Springs, UT.
Recreational Therapists provide 4-6 weekly RT sessions and 2 general groups as needed. Keep progress notes in a timely professional manner. Attend and participate in weekly treatment team meetings. Complete the RT section of each master treatment plan for each student. Plan, assist and/or lead company ceremonies. Plan and implement 1-2 long Saturdays a month. Assist with activities during family weekend at both campuses. Other duties as assigned.
National RT Certification and Utah State TRS are required along with a Bachelors Degree in Recreational Management. Understanding of laws regarding documentation, reporting and confidentiality is essential. Applicant must have skills in discernment, therapeutic theory and intervention, communicating concepts and expectations. Must also, be able to plan and implement RT sessions. It is vital to hold appropriate boundaries with students and parents and to assess and interpret student behavior.
