Special Education Teacher/Coordinator (full-time or part-time)

La Europa Academy is a an accredited, private Therapeutic School of Fine Arts for adolescent females, located in Murray, UT. We are committed to using artistic expression as a therapeutic and educational inroad to foster student success.  This is done by providing an individualized therapeutic experience along with an encouraging and challenging learning environment in which students can develop into confident communicators and become independent, life-long learners. We accept girls in grades 9-12 and teach 36 total students. We are seeking a very hands-on, experiential Special Education Teacher / Coordinator who wants to work in a creative, small, nurturing teaching environment.

Teacher Requirements:

  • Utah State Certified in Special Education Mild/Moderate
  • Masters Degree Strongly Preferred
  • MUST have strong Administrative skills
  • Administrative / Supervisory Certification Preferred
  • Teach Year-Round (215 contract days)
  • Teach study skills class
  • Review Educational Testing and develop fact and accommodation sheet for regular education teachers
  • Support special education students in regular education classroom
  • Support staff/therapists in understanding the needs of special education students
  • Co-teach with regular education teachers
  • Participate in any IEP meetings or meetings regarding funding as needed
  • Fine Arts interest / talent is preferred
