NATSAP offers webinars each year on a range of topics in the mental health field, and we invite you to contribute your suggestions. Topics
We are soliciting ideas for topics of interest to individuals working in the mental health field.
Some of our past webinar descriptions include:
- Healing the Healer: Personal and program strategies for recognizing, understanding, and resolving the realities of burnout.
- Ethical Marketing for Today’s World: How do NATSAP members fare against this backdrop of American distrust? In this session, participants will learn what differentiates ethical marketing from unethical practices. Session participants will walk away with tips they can use in their marketing campaigns.
- Transforming Stress and Trauma: Mitigation and Resilience: During this webinar and discussion we will focus on an innovative model of stress and traumatic stress that offers clarity, accountability and tangible ideas for mitigation and resilience. There is little question that the pandemic has intensified stress and anxiety to significant levels, making it even more critical to understand ways to address these experiences. This model is useful on a student/client, family, workforce, and organizational level, and provides a foundation on which to improve relational health, reflective practices, and well-being.
- You Don’t Need to be a Neuro-Guru to Do Neurofeedback: What is secondary trauma? How it manifests in the therapeutic relationship. The unique environment posed in a residential therapeutic program. Brain Health, Brain Based Therapy, Turnover and Burnout, Evidenced-based recommendations in alleviating the issue.
- Regulation in a Canceled Culture: Regulators have had to make shifts in their practices amidst the Coronavirus pandemic including new and innovative approaches in their review and approval practices and activities. Many site visits, program requirements, and checklists have been modified for the current climate. Join us to discuss the noteworthy changes in regulation, the benefits of being licensed during a crisis, typical challenges in becoming licensed and more.
- The Intersection of Autism and Gender:Â Autism and gender are typically understood on spectrums, and importantly, there is a significant overlap within the intersection of people who are autistic and trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming. This presentation dives deeper into this identity intersection - the prevalence, hypothesis for this co-occurrence, and how these identities interact within one another.
Learning Level
We are looking for webinar ideas at basic/general, intermediate, and advanced levels, as defined below, that incorporate active learning techniques.

Intermediate
Intermediate level webinars assume working knowledge of the topic, basic concepts and principles, or of the regulations. The pace of the training and difficulty of concepts presented require more advanced knowledge and skills than those required at the introductory level.
Advanced
Advanced level webinars assume the participant already has established experience, knowledge, and skill within the area covered. The focus of courses at this level is on comprehension of findings in the current literature and the synthesis and application of information presented to advance current clinical and research practices. The pace of instruction and level of difficulty of the material presented are commensurate with the needs of a professional with comprehensive knowledge, ability, and experience in the content area.
Format
Most of our webinars have a running time of 60 – 90 minutes, involve speakers who represent the perspectives of different institutions and/or backgrounds, and cover complementary aspects of a given topic.
